Facebook Changes Privacy Policy

“Facebook has agreed to make worldwide changes to its privacy policy as a result of negotiations with Canada’s privacy commissioner. Last month the social network was found to breach Canadian law by holding on to users’ personal data indefinitely. Facebook has now agreed to make changes to the way it handles this information and be more transparent about what data it collects and why.”

Read the whole story: Facebook Changes Privacy Policy I think this is important because those of us that create content make our living from licencing that content. And everyone should have more control over their private information and the way it is used and abused.

Kodak’s taking Kodachrome away

The Associated Press had this story about the demise of a classic and wonderful film, the color slide film I used to photograph my book, and most assignments through the 80′s and early 90′s.

“Sorry, Paul Simon, Kodak is taking your Kodachrome away. The Eastman Kodak Co. announced Monday it’s retiring its oldest film stock because of declining customer demand in an increasingly digital age. The world’s first commercially successful color film, immortalized in song by Simon, spent 74 years in Kodak’s portfolio. It enjoyed its heyday in the 1950s and ’60s but in recent years has nudged closer to obscurity: Sales of Kodachrome are now just a fraction of 1 percent of the company’s total sales of still-picture films, and only one commercial lab in the world still processes it.”

We’ll miss you Kodachrome!

Sustainability – Beauty in the Details

From a recent series on organic, and raw natural foods. Agricultural shoots are one of my specialties, for website or annual report projects. The days are long and lunch is usually right off the vine. For me it makes me feel connected to the land and I really like that.

When I first read Walden Pond, it influenced me deeply to seek peace in nature and to become mindful of the most minute detail. Is this a Dandelion or a network? Inter-connected, inter-dependent, balanced, and stronger as a whole.

Are we stronger when we connect to others, I think we are, how do you see it?

Feeling Empowered

There’s palpable positive energy going around, and it trickles down…it makes me feel, well I might just be one person, but in my view, photography can have the power to change the way we think…with all the hope going around, I’m looking forward to engage in the projects ahead…its an exciting time.
