This month we lost the masterful and brilliant photographer Irving Penn, gone at 92 -. I was fortunate, as a young man in New York, to work for a brief time in his studio. His respect for others, humility and perseverant spirit forever influenced my own approach to working. His art, always fresh, powerful, elegant and yet very real. I am grateful for having met him, and that his work will live on.
